Dutch Artists Blend Every Fragrance of 2012 Into One Motherload Perfume

In what promises to be a horrendous attack on the nostrils, Dutch conceptual artists Lernert and Sander have created a work of art entitled “Everything,” a combination of the nearly 1400 fragrances launched in 2012. That means everything from Gucci Première to Girlfriend by Justin Bieber are housed in the same 1.5-liter, hand-blown bottle, an amplification of the teeny glass samples handed out in shopping malls worldwide. This is all very reminiscent of our childhood fascination with melting chapstick and candle wax together, then pouring them into tubes that we had innovatively branded “Lipwax.” Though that brainchild never quite took off, we’d love to give the beauty mashup another go. If we mixed all our favorite scents of last year, it’d smell faintly of Khal Drogo, Momofuku Milk Bar’s Crack Pie, and Pitch Perfect.  We’d call it “Lifebooker Clusterf*ck.”
